Deel Acquires Israeli AI Cybersecurity Company Clarity to Tackle Deepfake-Driven Identity Fraud
As fake identities, AI-generated candidates and remote-work attacks become a growing threat, Deel is adding continuous identity verification to its global workforce platform
The battle over digital identity is moving into the workplace. Global workforce platform Deel has acquired Israeli AI cybersecurity company Clarity, a developer of identity verification, deepfake detection and fraud prevention technologies designed to help organizations determine whether the person behind a screen is actually who they claim to be. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The deal comes as companies face a new generation of AI-powered threats. Attackers are increasingly using synthetic identities, forged documents and real-time deepfake technology to impersonate job candidates, gain access to organizations and exploit remote work environments.
Unlike traditional background checks, which verify identity at a single point in time, Clarity’s technology provides continuous verification throughout the employee lifecycle — from recruitment and onboarding to device management and secure access to corporate systems.
For Deel, which provides hiring, payroll, HR and workforce management services to more than 40,000 organizations across more than 150 countries, the acquisition expands its focus on trusted digital identity.
“AI is changing every part of how companies build global teams, but it’s also changing the threat landscape,” said Alex Bouaziz, co-founder and CEO of Deel. “Organizations need more than point-in-time verification; they need continuous trust.”
As part of the acquisition, Clarity’s technology and engineering team will join Deel, enabling the company to build AI-powered identity and security capabilities directly into its platform.
Founded in Israel, Clarity developed technology to detect deepfakes and synthetic identities as AI-generated impersonation becomes a growing enterprise risk. After October 7, the company’s technology was also used in Israel to help assess the authenticity of sensitive video footage and digital evidence.
“Trust shouldn’t end after a background check on day one,” said Michael Matias, co-founder and CEO of Clarity. “We built Clarity to continuously verify identity in an era where AI makes fraud more convincing than ever.”
The acquisition is Deel’s 15th and comes as the company continues expanding its workforce management platform. Deel also announced it surpassed $1.5 billion in annual recurring revenue (ARR) in the first half of 2026.
