SCD, an Israeli developer and manufacturer of advanced infrared detector technologies, has secured three multi-million-dollar orders from leading global customers for its advanced HOT HD MWIR detectors. The detectors will be integrated into next-generation counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS), long-range surveillance and border protection platforms, and homeland security applications.

According to the company, SCD’s HOT MWIR detectors are designed to operate at higher temperatures while maintaining excellent sensitivity and image performance. This capability reduces the cooling burden on the system, supports more efficient payload design, and contributes to improved reliability and operational availability. When combined with advanced long-life cooling solutions and integrated cooled detector assemblies, the technology enables a longer mean time to failure, reduced maintenance requirements, and improved system readiness.

These advantages are especially important for C-UAS, long-range surveillance, border protection, AFVs, and critical infrastructure defense applications, where continuous operation, rapid threat detection, and minimal downtime are essential. HD MWIR detection provides the resolution and long-range performance required to detect, classify, and track small or distant targets under challenging operational conditions.

"These orders reflect the growing demand for mature, production-ready HOT MWIR technology," said Kobi Zaushnizer, CEO of SCD. "Today’s customers are looking beyond detector performance. They need a trusted partner with the proven ability to deliver advanced technology at scale while maintaining the quality, reliability, and supply continuity required for long-term defense programs. These orders reinforce SCD’s position as a leader in infrared technology and manufacturing."
