ServiceNow to Acquire Autonomous AI Startup ai.work
Moving past simple chatbots, the acquisition aims to deploy trusted AI "specialists" that actually execute end-to-end enterprise work

ServiceNow, a US cloud-based enterprise AI platform, tannounced it has entered into an agreement to acquire ai.work, an Israeli pioneer in autonomous AI systems, to accelerate the future of digital workflows. Founded less than two years ago, ai.work builds intelligent learning systems designed to understand enterprise operations and move work from intent to outcomes.
The acquisition marks a strategic push to move beyond traditional applications and dashboards toward an autonomous workforce of AI specialists operating safely alongside humans.
"The next era of enterprise software won't be defined by more applications, more dashboards, or more workflow builders," stated the ai.work founders, Maor Ezer (CEO) and Nir Nahum (CTO). "It will be defined by intelligent learning AI systems that understand how a company actually operates... Systems that empower people and learn from how they actually work, capture the knowledge of the organization, and turn those learnings into skills, context, and action."
Integrating with ServiceNow addresses the critical enterprise hurdle of security and compliance, allowing ai.work’s technology to scale within a deeply trusted environment.
"Autonomous AI for work is not only a technological challenge, it is a trust challenge," the founders emphasized. "For AI to cross the line from assisting work to doing work, enterprises have to trust the platform underneath it. They need governance, security, controls, auditability, deep workflow context and a partner that genuinely understands how work moves inside a large organization. That is ServiceNow."
Backed by investors including Lool Ventures and A*, the acquisition allows the ai.work team to scale its technology globally. "A startup gives you the chance to build something from zero. A company like ServiceNow gives you the chance to shape how millions of people actually work," the founders added.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, but are estimated in the tens of millions of dollars.
