MODEL 4 Opens Vietnam Manufacturing Gateway for Israeli Defense Industry
The Israeli company signs an exclusive agreement with DONG NAM Industrial Applications, providing access to Vietnam's state-owned defense production facilities as demand for global manufacturing capacity continues to rise
Israeli company MODEL 4 has signed a strategic and exclusive cooperation agreement with the Vietnamese industrial manufacturing company DONG NAM Industrial Applications, in a move the company describes as the first of its kind between the Israeli defense industry and Vietnam's defense and industrial manufacturing sector.
As part of the collaboration, MODEL 4 will provide its customers with access to DONG NAM's manufacturing network and Vietnam's state-owned defense production facilities, including the Z111, Z129 and Z151 plants, which form part of the country's advanced defense manufacturing infrastructure.
According to the company, the agreement is expected to provide Israeli defense companies with access to a broad, efficient and advanced manufacturing base, including precision machining, advanced castings, forging, electronic packaging and the production of complex components, while combining high quality standards with competitive production costs.
The agreement comes at a time when Israel's defense industry is seeking fast, cost-effective manufacturing capacity without compromising on quality or production standards.
Until now, many defense and industrial companies in Israel have relied on supply chains and manufacturing in countries including India, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and elsewhere in Eastern Europe. However, in recent years, alongside growing global demand for defense products, the need for additional manufacturing sources that offer greater capacity, shorter delivery times and increased operational flexibility has also intensified.
Against this backdrop, Vietnam has emerged as one of the world's fastest-growing centers for advanced manufacturing. The country has attracted large-scale international investment in electronics, metalworking, precision components and advanced technologies, cementing its position as an attractive alternative to traditional manufacturing hubs in Asia and Europe.
On Golan, CEO of MODEL 4, said: "For years, the Israeli defense industry has been looking for manufacturing partners that combine advanced production capabilities, compliance with the most stringent quality standards and competitive costs. This need has intensified significantly in recent years. The collaboration with DONG NAM provides a solution to this need and opens up a new option for the Israeli market that did not exist until now. Vietnam is becoming a significant player in the global manufacturing arena, and we are proud to be the first to connect its advanced industrial and defense manufacturing capabilities with the needs of the Israeli defense industry."
