Rafael Secures Follow-On Order for Naval Electronic Warfare Decoys
International customer expands procurement of Rafael’s C-GEM active decoy systems as demand grows for advanced maritime survivability solutions against evolving missile threats
Rafael Advanced Defense Systems announced a follow-up order from an international customer for advanced naval electronic warfare self-protection systems, including the company’s C-GEM high-power RF active off-board decoy.
The deal builds on a previous procurement of Rafael’s Naval Decoy Control & Launching System (DCLS) and further strengthens the customer’s layered maritime defense architecture. The new order includes a mix of passive decoy systems alongside the C-GEM active decoy, reflecting increasing international demand for advanced soft-kill technologies designed to counter sophisticated anti-ship missile threats.
Rafael said the agreement highlights growing operational confidence in the C-GEM system and its readiness for deployment aboard modern naval platforms operating in increasingly contested electromagnetic environments.
The company has positioned itself as a major supplier of high-power RF active electronic warfare decoys for both naval vessels and fighter aircraft. Its systems are designed to disrupt and deceive advanced radar-guided threats, including multi-mode missile seekers capable of operating in dense electronic warfare conditions.
Rafael’s naval decoy portfolio includes both active and passive countermeasure systems integrated with shipboard combat management and electronic warfare suites. Among them is the WIZARD fourth-generation corner reflector decoy, as well as a range of RF and infrared passive countermeasures intended to improve ship survivability against modern anti-ship missiles.
In the airborne domain, Rafael also markets the X-GUARD towed active decoy for aircraft, designed to protect fighter jets and other aerial platforms from advanced radar-guided threats.
The latest order comes amid rising global investment in naval survivability and electronic warfare capabilities as maritime forces confront increasingly capable missile and drone threats across multiple theaters.
“The follow-up order underscores the customer’s confidence in Rafael’s solutions and reflects the long-term partnership approach we take in supporting naval forces worldwide,” said Ran Tavor, vice president and head of Rafael’s Naval Warfare Systems Directorate.
He added that Rafael continues to invest in next-generation maritime and airborne electronic warfare technologies aimed at delivering “future-ready solutions tailored to the evolving operational needs of modern armed forces.”
