In a special operation carried out overnight in southern Syria, IDF forces arrested a terrorist cell operating on behalf of Iran in the areas of Um al-Luks and Ein al-Basli. The operation, led by the Golan Brigade (474) under the command of Division 210 and in cooperation with field investigators from Unit 504, was conducted following targeted intelligence gathering.

According to an IDF spokesperson, the forces completed a complex overnight operation during which several militants, reportedly directed by Iranian elements, were apprehended. The cell was operating in areas of southern Syria near the Israeli border and was identified as part of Iran’s effort to establish a foothold in the region and carry out attacks against Israeli targets.

During the operation, various weapons were found at the scene of the arrest, including firearms and grenades used by the cell in its activities.

The IDF emphasized that the operation followed an extended period of intelligence collection and investigations that lasted several weeks, during which the cell’s patterns of activity and sources of support were identified. The suspects are expected to undergo further interrogation by Israeli security forces to uncover additional information about Iranian terror infrastructure in Syria.

Division 210, which is responsible for the Syrian border sector, continues its efforts to prevent any terrorist entrenchment in the area—particularly attempts by Iran to expand its influence in southern Syria. The IDF stressed that these operations aim to protect Israeli citizens, especially residents of the Golan Heights, and to eliminate any potential threat from the Syrian border.
