UVID 2025, one of Israel’s premier events in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and drones, will take place for the 13th consecutive year. This year, the conference will be split across two locations: Tel Aviv on November 27, 2025, and Yeruham in the following week. The Yeruham event will be held at the aerial testing field and the Mindset science complex, featuring an impressive aerial display and professional sessions focused on innovation, education, and human capital.

The Yeruham portion will include two main venues, combining an aerial show at the testing field with an innovation pavilion and an education and academia summit at the Mindset complex. Throughout the events, participants will experience advanced tech project showcases, hands-on workshops, research presentations, and supervised demonstration flights with full safety and flight clearances. The main conference day, scheduled for December 1, will feature an official opening, aerial demonstration, networking lunch, and professional panels on innovation and human capital development.

Alon Unger, Chairman of the UVID Conference, emphasized the need to promote Israel’s UAV sector as a critical national growth engine, given global trends, competition, and rising demand. He noted that the growing use of UAVs in defense, along with their integration into the civilian sector, underscores the importance of dual-use technology, which presents significant business opportunities. According to Unger, this requires Israel to establish a leadership framework to maintain its global innovation edge.

UVID and the Yeruham event serve as a central platform to advance these initiatives, connecting entrepreneurs, developers, and investors, and accelerating tech development. Recently, the Ministry of Economy’s Growth Directorate, together with Yeruham Municipality and UVID, launched the "UAV as a National Growth Engine" initiative. Four working groups are already active, focusing on business development, regulation, human capital, and infrastructure.

In preparation for the main Tel Aviv event, extensive planning is underway for the Yeruham event, including aerial and ground demonstrations, transportation logistics, sound systems, signage, and comprehensive safety management for flight and ground zones. The production teams include UVID, the Yeruham municipality, and national initiatives, working in close coordination.

Alongside UVID and the UAV growth initiative, the Ministry of Transport, Israel Innovation Authority, Civil Aviation Authority, and Ayalon Highways have launched the third call for proposals under the National Aerial Mobility Initiative. This call aims to expand the initiative and reinforce Israel’s leadership in global UAV and drone innovation.

The national drone project, part of the Ministry of Transport’s vision for a smart, safe, and sustainable transportation system, provides a unique testbed that merges advanced technology, regulatory innovation, and varied civilian applications—such as rapid deliveries, advanced mapping, and infrastructure monitoring. Previous calls led to major achievements, including over 25,000 test flights, development of an advanced operational model for an integrated UAV network, and the creation of a rich tech ecosystem.

This rich tech ecosystem includes startups, government entities, and security agencies. The initiative has also spurred significant regulatory progress and the establishment of a national infrastructure system for aerial traffic management. Moshe Ben Zaken, Director General of the Ministry of Transport, noted that the initiative is a prime example of cross-sector collaboration producing real-world results. According to him, Israel aims to strengthen its position as a global leader in this field. Dror Bin, CEO of the Israel Innovation Authority, emphasized that the aerial mobility initiative marks a new phase in transitioning to dynamic, managed, and safe skies, featuring long-range flights and advanced commercial applications.

Bin added that Israel is ready to lead the aerial mobility revolution with smart drones capable of handling a wide range of tasks, from package delivery to medical evacuation. UVID 2025 is expected to serve as a unique platform connecting cutting-edge tech industries, academic institutions, and the Yeruham community. The event will help position Yeruham as a leading tech hub and significantly contribute to regional economic development while reinforcing Israel’s global leadership in UAV innovation.
