Following the initial delivery, nine additional VBTP-MR Guarani APCs are expected to arrive in the Philippines later this year. Furthermore, a total of 14 more units are currently in production.
Armyrecognition website assume that these additional vehicles will significantly bolster the Philippine Army's capability to conduct rapid and effective operations in diverse environments. This acquisition is part of the Philippines' ongoing efforts to modernize its military forces in response to evolving security challenges in the region.
This contract also signifies the deepening defense cooperation between the Philippines and Brazil and reflects the Philippines' ongoing efforts to diversify its sources of military equipment, moving beyond traditional suppliers (like Israel) to include nations like Brazil.
