Dynatrace (NYSE: DT) has acquired Metis, an AI-driven database observability provider, to enhance its database monitoring and automation capabilities. The integration of Metis’ technology will expand Dynatrace’s offering with expert-level recommendations and automatic remediation, complementing its AI engine, Davis® AI.

As organizations manage increasingly complex cloud-native databases, developers face growing challenges in maintaining performance and reliability. While these databases are easy to deploy, they require continuous monitoring to prevent performance issues. By incorporating Metis’ observability tools, Dynatrace aims to provide developers with improved database management, reducing downtime and optimizing performance.

Metis was founded in 2021 by Roee Kriger and Itay Brown and has raised $5 million from investors including UpWest and Spider Capital. The company specializes in AI-powered database observability, helping developers troubleshoot and control cloud-native databases. Kriger, who previously held management roles at Trusteer, Redbend, and the Prime Minister’s Office, has joined Dynatrace as part of the acquisition.

Dynatrace provides AI-powered observability solutions for modern digital businesses, helping organizations analyze and automate their IT environments. The company expects to launch its integrated AI database observability solution with Metis technology in the second half of 2025.
