SMARTSHOOTER, an Israeli innovator in fire control systems, introduces its latest counter-UAS (C-UAS) solution: SMASH DOME. This lightweight, portable, and adaptable system supports both covert and overt operations, providing tactical area defense against Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). SMASH DOME addresses the evolving drone threat, including hardened defenses against GNSS jamming, with a multi-layer C-UAS approach that integrates detection, tracking, and precise kinetic interception.

At the core of SMASH DOME’s kinetic response is the SMASH Hopper—a lightweight, remote-controlled weapon station (LRCWS) equipped with an assault rifle and a ballistically calculated Fire Control System (FCS). Designed for highly accurate engagement of drones and UASs, regardless of their communication links or models, the SMASH Hopper can be integrated with a Command-and-Control (C2) system for automatic UAS target detection and tracking. It provides operators with real-time, calculated ballistic solutions and can accommodate various weapons and ammunition types for kinetic interception of different UAS threats.

Complementing the SMASH Hopper, SMASH DOME incorporates both active RF radar and passive optical detection systems to detect, classify, and track UAS targets. With detection ranges of up to 1–2 km (depending on the sensor type), these sensors continuously transmit target data to SMARTSHOOTER’s proprietary tracking system, ensuring real-time monitoring and interception readiness. SMASH DOME is designed for deployment on manned and unmanned vehicles and platforms, as well as for ground-based use along borders and at strategic facilities.

SMARTSHOOTER CEO Michal Mor stated that SMASH DOME, powered by SMASH technology, offers a cost-effective and precise solution to the growing threat of rogue drones disrupting and endangering critical areas. She added, “SMASH DOME’s seamless integration with existing Command-and-Control (C2) systems makes it a versatile asset, serving both as a standalone defense system and as an essential ‘insurance policy’ for passive C-UAS solutions.

"By minimizing ammunition use and ensuring effective interception of both small drones and larger UASs, SMASH DOME exemplifies SMARTSHOOTER’s commitment to protecting forces and critical infrastructure from evolving aerial threats.”
