Israeli company ESC BAZ, specializing in wide-range optical systems for border protection, critical infrastructure security, and perimeter defense, announced the finalization of a long-term collaboration agreement with Australian defense company EOS. The agreement focuses on ESC BAZ’s BPOD system—a sighting solution for machine guns and cannons that has already been sold in hundreds of units worldwide.

According to ESC BAZ, EOS selected the BPOD system as the primary sighting solution for its renowned remote weapon stations. This decision reflects EOS’s commitment to delivering non-cooled sighting solutions with high optical performance at a competitive price. As part of the agreement, ESC BAZ will supply hundreds of BPOD systems to EOS.

Additionally, the partnership includes the establishment of a state-of-the-art optical center, which will serve as a production hub for BPOD systems to meet growing global demand. The agreement also encompasses joint development projects to create new systems tailored to specific customer requirements and operational needs.

The BPOD is a dedicated weapon pod designed for mounted platforms, featuring a daytime channel, a dual-field-of-view (FOV) uncooled thermal channel, a laser rangefinder (LRF), and effective operational capability at ranges of up to 3.5 km.

Assaf Machlev, CEO of ESC BAZ, expressed gratitude for the partnership, stating: “We thank EOS and its CEO, Andreas Schwer, for their trust and collaboration. This agreement marks a significant step in our future activities and the development of new defense products.”
