Operation "Northern Arrows" Continues: IDF Ground Forces Active in Southern Lebanon
According to reports, Lebanese military forces withdrew from areas near the Israeli border ahead of the start of the ground operation
Since last night, IDF forces have been conducting a targeted ground operation in southern Lebanon. The operation is focused on villages that pose a threat to Israeli communities, with the primary targets being Hezbollah terror sites near the border.
During the operation, several rockets and UAVs were fired towards the Meron and Shetula areas. Ten rockets were launched toward Meron, all of which were intercepted or fell in open areas, with no casualties reported. Simultaneously, Al Arabiya reported that Israeli tanks entered the Rmeish area, and the IDF called on residents of border villages to evacuate.
According to reports, Lebanese military forces have withdrawn from areas near the Israeli border ahead of the ground operation, which was approved by the Security Cabinet on Saturday night. The U.S. State Department noted that the IDF is conducting limited operations along the border, while The New York Times reported that the U.S. government succeeded in convincing Israel to avoid a large-scale ground invasion.
The IDF spokesperson urged the public to avoid spreading rumors and unofficial reports, and to rely solely on information released in official statements. The ground maneuver is fully approved and carefully planned by the IDF General Staff and the Northern Command, with artillery and air force support reinforcing the ground forces.
The ground operation continues, with coordinated strikes on designated targets alongside ground forces.
