The New System Transforming IDF Training – Meet the VBS4

At a special conference held at the military colleges, groundbreaking technological innovations were unveiled, including a new version of the VBS4 system and a collaboration with Israel's defense industries. Could this be the next revolution in IDF combat training?

On Thursday, the VBS user conference was held at the IDF Military Colleges, as part of the lessons and insights from Operation "Cast Lead." Led by the IDF Military Colleges, the conference aimed to share knowledge on the use of VBS systems within IDF units and to showcase new capabilities developed in collaboration with the IDF.

During the event, the extensive and critical use of the VBS system was highlighted, which supports IDF units through preparation, training, and the simulation of hundreds of operational scenarios. Participants were introduced to the new version of VBS4 and the terrain server for instructors, developed specifically for the IDF by BISIM, in cooperation with the Image Technology Department (ITD) and the Military Terrain Unit.

This server enables the creation of multi-dimensional terrain scenarios for use by all IDF forces and units, in standard formats compatible with Israeli defense industries. It offers an updated and fast repository of terrain scenarios, significantly enhancing the ability to prepare for various scenarios in a precise and efficient manner.

The implementation of the VBS system in the IDF is managed by the company Sindiana, which provides advanced technological solutions to improve the training and simulation capabilities of various units.

The conference saw the participation of numerous IDF units, who shared their experiences and insights from the training and operational simulation processes, greatly contributing to the knowledge and capabilities of all attendees.
