In this year's list of the world's top 100 defense companies, five Turkish firms are included, highlighting the impressive growth of Turkey's military and aerospace industries. These companies export defense products to the Middle East, Africa, the Balkans, Central and South Asia.

ASELSAN specializes in military electronics, communication equipment, and sensors. Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) is expected to showcase its new training aircraft, HURJET, at an upcoming airshow in Egypt. ROKETSAN is a leading manufacturer of unguided rockets, guided missiles, and autonomous products.

MKE, a major producer of small arms and ammunition, is now expanding into artillery ammunition production. BAYKAR, known for its unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), offers two globally sought-after products – the TB2 and the new UAV, AKINCI.

The website "Defense News" reports that Turkey’s defense and aerospace ministers recently participated in a conference in Washington focusing on defense production. During the conference, the ministers noted that Turkey's defense exports increased by 20 percent in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period last year. Additionally, they announced plans for cooperation between Turkish and American companies.
