The Pentagon announced that U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has ordered the deployment of the nuclear-powered, missile-armed submarine "Georgia" to the Middle East in response to rising regional tensions. Concurrently, the U.S. Air Force's most advanced fighter jets, the F-22s, have already arrived in the area.
The Pentagon's statement noted that Austin spoke with his Israeli counterpart and emphasized the U.S. commitment to defend Israel, highlighting the increase in American forces and military capabilities in the region.
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) added that the deployment of the fighter jets is aimed at preventing escalation from Iran and its proxies.
