Ecuadorian Army Enhances Capabilities with Delivery of 45 David 4x4 Armored Vehicles
Ecuador purchased 137 "David" vehicles for a total amount of over $67 million and so far 90 vehicles have been delivered
The Ecuadorian Ministry of Defense announced that the Ecuadorian Army has received 45 David 4x4 tactical armored vehicles, produced by MDT Armor Corporation, an American subsidiary of the Israeli company Shladot. According to the announcement, these vehicles are designed for use in urban areas, conflict zones, target acquisition, reconnaissance, and personnel transport, thereby enhancing the operational readiness and capabilities of the Ecuadorian Army.
In May, the Ecuadorian Army began training its units in anti-terror internal security operations using Israeli "David" VBL 4x4 armored vehicles (). To date, Ecuador has received 90 of these vehicles as part of a total order of 137, with a cost exceeding $67 million. The David VBLs are also equipped with Israeli Elbit’s E-LynX software-defined mobile radio network solution and advanced battle management systems.
