Emtan Delivers Rifels to Ecuadorian Police

In a ceremony held in the city of Duran, the local police received 1,752 MZ4P assault rifles in 5.56x45 mm caliber and 30 MZ10 sniper rifles in 7.62 mm caliber

In a ceremony held in the city of Durán, Ecuador, the local police received 1,782 rifles from the Israeli company Emtan. The event was attended by President Daniel Noboa and Minister of the Interior Mónica Palencia. The police received 1,752 MZ4P assault rifles in 5.56x45 mm caliber and 30 MZ10 sniper rifles in 7.62 mm caliber. A year ago, the Ecuadorian police purchased these rifles from Emtan for approximately $4.5 million.

The rifles were provided to the Durán police for a reason. According to The Economist, Durán had the highest murder rate in the world in 2023, with 148 homicides per 100,000 residents. The newspaper has labeled it "the most dangerous city in the world."
