Last week, the Slovak army unveiled the BOV 8x8 infantry fighting vehicle, based on the Finnish Patria AMV XP APC. This wheeled vehicle is outfitted with a domestic Turra-30 turret and a GTS-30/N autocannon in 30x173mm. It may also feature Israel’s Rafael Spike anti-tank missile system.

In March 2022, the Slovak government announced a purchase of 76 AMV XP 8x8 APCs from the Finnish company Patria, valued at €447 million. At that time, we reported on the potential for these APCs to be equipped with Spike anti-tank missiles.
