Philippine Armed Forces Enhance Combat Readiness with Elbit's Sabrah 105mm Light Tanks
Elbit supplied the Philippine Army with 20 tanks worth approximately $172 million
Two weeks ago, the 1st Tank (MASIKAN) Battalion of the Philippine Armed Forces conducted intensive gunnery training and live firing exercises with Israeli Elbit Systems’ Sabrah 105mm Light Tanks. This training, highlighted on the battalion's official Facebook page, was crucial for maintaining the unit's combat readiness and operational efficiency.
The exercises provided both seasoned soldiers and new trainees with invaluable hands-on experience through a series of realistic combat scenarios designed to test and enhance the accuracy, reliability, and firepower of the Sabrah 105mm Light Tanks.
Elbit Systems won a contract in June 2022 worth approximately $172 million to supply 20 Sabrah light tanks to the Philippine Army. The Sabrah light tank solution is based on the ASCOD platform, manufactured by General Dynamics European Land Systems Santa Bárbara from Spain, and the Pandur II 8X8 wheeled APC platform, manufactured by Excalibur Army from the Czech Republic.
