The newly formed 2nd Battalion of the Military Police of the Dominican Republic Army has been equipped with pistols and rifles from the Israeli company IWI. The battalion's fighters are armed with Jericho 941 9 mm pistols and Galil SAR 5.56 mm assault rifles.

This new tactical unit will consist of over 400 men and women divided into 8 companies. It has been assigned to the 2nd Infantry Brigade in the Northern Region of the country, from where it will begin participating in combined operations to support the National Police as part of its deterrent patrol plan, extending throughout the Cibao region.

In addition to IWI's small arms, the battalion will also be equipped with 5.56 mm M16A1 assault rifles and Browning M1919 and M60E1 medium machine guns in 7.62 mm caliber, which will be mounted on Mitsubishi L-200 4x4 militarized pickup trucks.
