Ecuadorian Army Deploys "David" Vehicles in Anti-Terror Operations

The Ecuadorian army has begun training its units in anti-terror internal security operations using Israeli MDT's Armor "David" VBL 4x4 armored vehicles. Ecuador has received 45 of these vehicles so far, as part of a total order of 137, costing over $67 million. This, according to Army Recognition.
These robust vehicles, based on the chassis of the Toyota Land Cruiser 79 4x4 MT and weighing 4.5 tons, are designed to transport up to eight passengers. They feature side and rear exits, a turret for Browning M2A2 QCB COAX 12.7x99 mm caliber machine guns, and are equipped with Stanag-II type ballistic protection.
Additionally, the David VBLs are equipped with Israeli Elbit's software-defined mobile radio network solution, E-LynX, and advanced battle management systems.
