Emtan Rifles Used by Ecuadorian Police

Ecuador’s police forces were recently equipped with rifles made by the Israeli company Emtan. Local reports that the police purchased 1,752 MZ4P assault rifles in 5.56x45 mm caliber and 30 MZ10 sniper rifles in 7.62 mm caliber worth about $4.5 million.

The 5.56mm assault rifles are supplied to the police with red dot sights and carrying cases and the sniper rifles with day sights.

Emtan is in good company as the Ecuadorian police also purchased 1,735 9x19 mm submachine rifles made by Sig Sauer worth about $5.5 million and 7,361 9 mm pistols made by Glock worth about $4.2 million.
