Philippine Navy receives two Israeli-made Shaldag MKV patrol ships

Israel Shipyards is set to deliver five more Shaldag ships in the next two years, as part of an overall $195 million deal

The Philippine Navy (PN) confirmed that two more brand-new fast attack interdiction-missile Shaldag Mark 5 ships – designated FAIC-M in the Philippine Navy - were delivered to the Philippine. 

Set for christening in May, these Shaldag Mark 5 ships will soon join the Acero-class patrol gunboats along with frontrunners BRP Nestor Acero (PG-901) and BRP Lolinato To-ong (PG-902) which were commissioned late last year.

According the Philippine News Agency, five more are expected to be delivered within the next two years.  The scope of the entire project is about $195 million.
