MDT Armor, an American subsidiary of Israel's Shladot, which operates a vehicle production plant in Alabama, was awarded by the U.S. Army a $21,913,585 contract for the production and purchasing of David Urban Light Armored Vehicles (ULAVs), for the IDF.

In July 2021, the U.S. Department of Defense awarded a contract worth about $10 million to MDT Armor for the production and supply of the same vehicles to IDF and that about 65-70 vehicles will be delivered. From this, it can be deduced that this time around, about 150 vehicles will be supplied to the IDF.
