Israeli MC-HORIZON system successfully intercepted 24 drones during live concerts in Italy

The MCTECH system protected the safety of more than 130,000 people in 2 rock concerts and a beach party

MCTECH RF Technologies, an Israeli company specializing in the development and production of technological solutions in the field of electronic warfare for security forces, armies, and governments in Israel and around the world, in collaboration with MD Systems, deployed counter-drone systems to protect three live concerts and a beach party in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy at the end of June and Early July.

The MC-HORIZON D360 V3 system, which approved by the Italian security forces, was deployed in the stadium to provide "aerial" coverage during the shows and to prevent Drones from hoovering and flying above and across the live concerts. MCTECH confirmed that 24 different drones attempted to infiltrate the restricted airspace during the events but were all intercepted and neutralized by the MC-Horizon D360, protection more than 130,000 people.

Ido Bar Oz, MCTECH CMO, explains, "Deploying counter-drone system and creating a protected aerial space overcrowded events is a necessity now days. We are witnessing increasing attempts to fly drone over such events without any approval or coordination, we can only imagine what will happen if a drone accidently crushes into the crowd or worse would serve as a terrorist tool to carry explosives into the center of the stage. The results would be devastating.

This is also the main reason why the Italian state authorities have chosen our systems, as they create a protective dome around the stadium and completely prevent drones’ intrusion attempts. The systems automatically detect drones at a of ranges that exceed 3.5 km around the stadium and block any attempt to fly around it or above it."
