Israeli President says counter-terror measures are like “thriller movie”

“No country would allow innocent civilians to be menaced solely on account of their identity, our long arm will reach wherever we choose” said Herzog Speaking at the Air Force’s flight course graduation ceremony

Israeli President Isaac Herzog attended the graduation ceremony of the Air Force’s 184th flight course, and delivered a clear message to the country’s enemies – especially those in Tehran.

“The security of Israel’s citizens is tested on a daily basis. We face many challenges, some in plain view; others, hidden. Iran stretches its long arms of terror into Israel, to our borders, and into other states,” said Herzog at Thursday's ceremony.

“No country in the world would allow its innocent civilians to be menaced solely on account of their identity.”

Herzog referred to the successful attempts in thwarting Iran-backed terror attacks against Israelis in Turkey over the past few weeks. “Believe me that Israel’s security forces are operating 24/7 in foiling and preventive operations often reminiscent of thriller movies. Reality sometimes surpasses all imagination.

“I am warning anyone who is thinking of trying us. We do not face threats with our arms crossed. Israel reserves its freedom of operation and guarantees its own security interests. Our long arm will reach wherever we choose, whenever we choose, by any means we choose.”
