Mobius supplies energy-absorbing seats to minesweeper of European country’s navy

Seats are tailor-made designed to meet minesweeper’s expected blast scenarios

Israeli Mobius protection system, which specializes in the design, development and production of life-saving and energy-absorbing (EA) systems for military vehicles, produced and delivered recently a couple of dozens EA seats to be installed in a minesweeper's of one of its customers in Europe. The scope of the deal is estimated at several hundred thousand dollars.

The seats are tailor-made and were designed to meet the expected blast scenarios of the minesweeper. A range of features to enhance the seating position and ergonomics were integrated to improve user experience and to ease the long seating hours of the operators during the mission. The seats include height adjustment, fore aft, 360 swivel, adjustable headrest and footrests and many other features. According the company, the seats completed a range of qualification tests and passed all of them with high grades.

"For Mobius it is an important milestone due to the fact that Tailored-Made Marine Seats with blast protection and shock mitigation properties is an important growing market to the company and we already works on new projects in Europe and the Middle east," said a company executive.
