US Department of Energy CIO: “Cybersecurity is a team sport”

Ann Dunkin shared her thoughts on cyber risk management and the importance of collaboration during Cybertech NYC

"The DOE fully understands the need to make bold changes in Cyber security in order to better defend our systems and data", said the US Department of Energy's (DEO), Ann Dunkin, on the Cybertech NYC conference stage. Dunking discussed the importance of partnering and collaborating across platforms and organizations.

“Cybersecurity is a team sport” , Said Dunkin, adding how important it is to remove barriers and boundaries in order to achieve collaboration between the public and private sector. "Our adversaries do not care about these boundaries, she said. 

Dunkin also discussed the improvements that must be made in order to achieve top cybersecurity, as well as ways of modernizing infrastructure, and the importance of focusing on risk management rather than on compliance
