Around 3:15pm on Monday, a terrorist (a 17-year-old Palestinian) entered a shop on Jaffa Street in Jerusalem, near the Central Bus Station, and started to stab two citizens who were inside.

Border policewomen who were on duty in the area saw what was happening, rushed over and opened fire on the terrorist, neutralizing him and preventing any other casualties. As a result of the stabbing attack, the two citizens required medical treatment, and were taken to a hospital in moderate condition (according to medical sources).

Large numbers of policemen arrived on the scene to start an investigation and search the area for additional suspects. During the operation, two additional suspects were located and taken in for questioning. A short time ago, the commander of the Jerusalem District of the Israel Police held a situational assessment meeting during which he instructed the district's Central Unit to carry out the investigation.
