During the last few days, Turkey unveiled a new attack drone capable of carrying SOM cruise missiles. The "Akinci" drone is manufactured by the Bayraktar company.
Turkish President Erdogan said at the ceremony for the delivery of the drone that Turkey intends to build a drone that can take off from warships with a short runway, and that he wants to turn Turkey into a hub of design, manufacturing and export of drones.
It should be pointed out that ever since the recent conflict in Nagorno-Karabagh during which Turkish drones had impressive achievements, Turkey was won a number of contracts around the world, most recently from Iraq.
Turkey also manufactures munitions for these drones. Since Turkey's export restrictions are less strict than those of other drone manufacturers, such as Israel, Turkey sells more.
