IAI announced this week that together with German company Hensoldt it will supply the German Navy with four long-range AESA radar systems adapted to the Navy's F124 frigates, in a deal worth about 200 million euros. The systems enable the detection of long-range aerial targets, including ballistic ones, as well as improved accuracy and the ability to track a wide variety of targets simultaneously. The deal also includes the installation of a land-based radar system, identical to the radar on the ships, for the training and instruction of technicians and operators as well as for the development of additional capabilities.

At the end of July, Hensoldt and IAI announced that they will provide the German Army with land-based radar systems for defense against ballistic missiles in a deal worth €200 million. According to the company, these radar systems are a key component in IAI's extensive air defense capabilities for short-term to strategic range protection, and help identify current and emerging aerial threats.

IAI said that the latest deal follows more than 3 billion shekels worth of sales of MMR radar systems to European countries, including the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, over the last year and a half.
