During the past year and a half, the Israel Border Police has been tendering for the supply of new vehicles. The Plasan, Shladot and Global Shield companies competed for the tender. At this stage, only Plasan and Global Shield remain in the competition, while it is still not clear whether the police will even have a budget to purchase the vehicles.
For unclear reasons, the police is trying to keep the tender process as secret as possible.
