Due to experience on Iranian front, Dr. Eyal Hulata tapped as next head of National Security Council

Hulata is expected to be Bennett's liaison with the Biden administration in terms of managing the diplomatic struggle against Iran. At this stage it seems that Biden is on the way to an agreement with Iran. Hulata faces considerable challenges in managing Israel's interaction with the White House in this context

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett announced yesterday (Sunday) the appointment of Dr. Eyal Hulata to the position of national security advisor and head of the National Security Council. Hulata held a series of senior administrative positions in the Mossad, including head of the Strategic Planning and Policy Division and as head of the Technology Division.

In the framework of his positions, he was responsible for the promotion of strategic and diplomatic ties that are vital for the State of Israel and its security, as well as for the development of technological responses for the needs of the organization in a wide range of fields.

Hulata, who is married and has three children, is a resident of Kfar Saba. He holds a doctorate in Physics from Tel Aviv University, a Masters degree in Public Administration from Harvard University, and is a graduate of the IDF "Talpiot" program for training technological leaders at Hebrew University. During his service in the Mossad, which lasted 23 years, Hulata was awarded the Israel Defense Prize.

Upon government approval of his appointment, Hulata will assume his post with an orderly handover by the outgoing head of the National Security Council, Meir Ben-Shabbat.
