German defense company KMW to acquire stake in Estonia's Milrem Robotics

The objective of the agreement is integration of robotics systems into the German company's technology systems as well as the development of innovative solutions for the future battlefield

Estonia's Milrem Robotics, a developer and manufacturer of military robotic land systems, and Germany's Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW), a producer of main battle tanks and combat systems, have signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Under the deal, KMW is to acquire a minority stake of 24.9% in Milrem, which will remain an independent company.

In a statement, the two companies said that the objective of the cooperation is the integration of modern leading robotics systems into KMW's technology systems, as well as the combination of the knowhow and expertise of the two companies to develop innovative solutions that meet the requirements of future military missions involving the interaction of manned and unmanned systems.
