In the towns of the Gaza border area, the week started on Sunday with fires. There were 35 fires overall in southern Israel, from Ashdod to Eilat. The Fire and Rescue Authority said that 10 fires in the Gaza border area were caused by incendiary balloons launched from the Gaza Strip. All of the fires were in the territory of the Eshkol Regional Council. The current heat wave also contributed to the fires.

The Israel Nature and Parks Authority reported that fires broke out in large parts of the Be'eri nature reserve. Teams from KKL-JNF, residents of the towns in the border area, the IDF, and staff from the Nature and Parks Authority spent the day extinguishing fires next to the towns of Karmia, Mavkiim, Erez and Sderot. In the afternoon, the fires from the incendiary balloons reached the greenhouses of Kibbutz Be'eri and caused major damage. There were also fires caused by incendiary balloons on Saturday in the territory of the Eshkol Regional Council.
