IDF Chief of Staff visits site of terrorist attack at 'Tapuach' junction

"The IDF reinforced its troops and expanded its operational activities during the last few weeks in Judea and Samaria as part of the readiness for escalation," said the Chief of Staff, Lieut. Gen. Aviv Kochavi

This morning, the IDF Chief of Staff, Lieut. Gen. Aviv Kochavi, visited Tapuach junction, where a terrorist attack took place yesterday. He later held a meeting to assess the situation, in which the commander of the Judea and Samaria Division, Brig. Gen. Yaniv Alaluf, described the deployment of forces in the area in light of the latest events.  

IDF forces continue their manhunt for the terrorists involved in the attack, and continue to reinforce defense efforts in the area. The Chief of Staff was accompanied by the head of the Central Command, Maj. Gen. Tamir Yadai, the coordinator of government activities in the territories, Maj. Gen. Ghasan Alyan, and other commanders. 

At the end of his visit, the Chief of Staff said, "The IDF reinforced its troops and expanded its operational activities during the last few weeks in Judea and Samaria as part of the readiness for escalation. Many forces, with the assistance of intelligence entities and the Israel Security Agency, have been operating since yesterday to find those who carried out the attack, and will continue until they complete the mission."
