The Slovak Army is looking for a new type of armored personnel carrier (APC), and is already in the process of examining several of them. The Soldat & Technik website reported that a week ago General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) demonstrated the capabilities of the Ascod APC for Slovakian Defense Minister Jaroslav Naď and other high-ranking representatives of the Defense Ministry and the Army.

In March, Germany's Rheinmetall conducted a demonstration of the Lynx KF41 for the Slovak Army, becoming the first potential contractor to offer its APC. It seems that the Army intends to acquire a foreign vehicle, significantly integrate it with domestic systems, and equip an entire brigade with the vehicle.

The website estimated that other APCs will also take part in the competition, with the most likely candidate being the CV90 of BAE Systems that is competing with the Lynx and Ascod in a tender for the supply of the future APC of the Czech Armed Forces.
