American helicopter manufacturer Bell hosted a senior delegation from Bahrain to mark the start of the manufacturing of Viper AH-1Z attack helicopters for Bahrain's Air Force, as part of the Foreign Military Sales program. Bell announced that the Viper helicopters meet the requirements of the modern battlefield. The State Department approved a contract with Bell for the manufacturing and supply of 12 of the helicopters to Bahrain, with delivery to begin at the end of the year.
The vice presidents of Bell hosted the commander of Bahrain's Air Force and Bahrain's ambassador to Washington at the production facility in Amarillo, Texas, to mark the start of production of the helicopters.
