Georgian Army receives US small arms
The army received modern M2А1 machine guns, MK19 grenade launchers and an additional batch of M249 light machine guns

The Georgian Ministry of Defense announced last week that units of the Georgian Army received modern M2А1 machine guns, MK19 grenade launchers and an additional batch of M249 light machine guns. The Georgian Army received the American-made machine guns and grenade launchers under a program of upgrading equipment to NATO standards.
The Defence Blog website noted that the Georgian Army received US-made weapons including Javelin anti-tank missile systems over the past few years. It also pointed out that Georgia's Defense Ministry, under Minister Irakli Garibashvili, has signed deals with companies from various countries for repairing, upgrading or replacing the vehicle fleets of the armed forces.
