The Army Recognition website reported that France has delivered nine ERC-90 Sagaie armored vehicles to the Chadian Army. Twenty soldiers from the African country are currently undergoing vehicle commander training with the armored operational instruction detachment of the French forces in Gabon. The training of drivers and gunners, which will end with a live-fire exercise, will continue until June, the report said.

The ERC-90 is a 6x6 light reconnaissance vehicle armed with a 90 mm cannon. It was developed by the French company Panhard, which is now part of Arquus, formerly Renault Trucks Defense. The French Army received a total of 192 of the vehicles between 1984, when delivery began, and 1990, when delivery ended. The Army's ERC-90s will be replaced by new Jaguar reconnaissance and combat armored vehicles.

According to the website, the Chadian Army already has four ERC-90s that were delivered in 1987, and also uses many other wheeled armored vehicles provided by France including 132 AML-60/AML-90 vehicles, 22 Bastion Patsas and Bastion APCs, and VAB and Black Scorpion APCs.
