Italian company Beretta announced last weekend that it has been awarded a contract by the Brazilian Ministry of Justice for the procurement of up to more than 159,000 APX pistols. According to the company, after an open international competition and rigorous evaluation, the APX full size pistol has been selected to equip the units of the National Public Security Force and other law enforcement agencies of different Brazilian states.

The company said that the Beretta APX striker-fired pistol is one of the safest, most modern pistol platforms on the market. With ambidextrous controls, adjustable grip and a modular design, the APX is seen as suitable for all the different users in the Brazilian law enforcement agencies.
