Israeli company Marom Dolphin has won a contract to supply thousands of personal body armor vests and helmets to the Philippine Navy's Marine units, according to a report on the Philippine website phdefenseresource.com.

The report says that the company received a notification in August from the Philippine Ministry of Defense about winning the tender worth approximately $10.5 million for the supply of 7,491 body armor vests and 9,528 helmets. The site reports that two of Dolphin's main competitors in this tender were MKU Ltd. from India and Welcron Co. Ltd. from South Korea.

An executive at Marom Dolphin said, "The company thanks the Ministry of Defense and the Philippine Army for their trust and choice of Marom Dolphin to supply advanced protective vests and helmets for use by the Marines. This unit is added to many units, armies and police around the world using advanced equipment developed and manufactured by Marom Dolphin."
