One million Kalashnikov rifles sold over last decade to 30 countries

The statement was issued by Russian arms exporter Rosoboronexport. There are currently more than 10 configurations of the firearm including sniper rifles and medium and heavy machine guns being manufactured

A million Kalashnikov assault rifles of various configurations have been sold to 30 countries for military and civilian uses since 2010, Russian arms exporter Rosoboronexport said to the TASS news agency.  

In recent years Russia has diversified, improved and upgraded the famous AK rifles, with some being manufactured under license in different countries such as India. There are currently more than 10 configurations of the weapon including sniper rifles and medium and heavy machine guns are being manufactured. The company's factories offer several types of sniper rifles for sports purposes and for militaries. In addition, the Kalashnikov factories manufacture RPG rockets, antitank rockets and precision rifles that use special ammunition for hitting high-quality targets, including penetration of armored vehicles protected by light armor.
