Iran has transferred military forces to its border with Azerbaijan. Local residents in border areas reported that they saw convoys of units of the Revolutionary Guard Corps traveling in the direction of the Azeri border.

A local resident said on Twitter: "Dozens of tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, together with soldiers, are heading to the north of Iran to the border with Nagorno-Karabakh." The Defense Blog website quoted a report by a local journalist saying a large military convoy with over 30 T-72M1 main battle tanks, BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, and surface-to-air missile systems of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps arrived in the area of the border.
