The British security service MI5 recently uncovered ties between Hezbollah and the IRA from Northern Ireland. According to the MI5 report, Hezbollah transferred, via the Quds Force of Iran, shipments of weapons and a large amount of money to the Irish organization during the last few years, in order for the IRA to make another attempt to remove British rule and establish an independent state in Northern Ireland by means of terrorist attacks.

Among the weapons transferred by Hezbollah to the Irish organization were rifles, ammunition and mortar bombs. The first contact between the terrorist organizations was made during 2017, and in the beginning of 2018 representatives of the IRA organization started to fly to Beirut for work meetings and coordination with their colleagues. Also, representatives of the Irish organization apparently met a number of times with representatives of the Iranian embassy in Dublin.

The transfer of weapons to the IRA was carried out via Hezbollah's logistical channels that operate throughout the world to smuggle weapons and drugs. Hezbollah runs a large criminal network in the Middle East, Europe and in the various countries of the Americas.

Hezbollah's crime organization, which operates in cooperation with the drug cartels of Colombia and Mexico, deal with smuggling from South American countries and Mexico to the US, Europe and the Middle East. Using the criminal network, Hezbollah finances a considerable part of its efforts and those of Iran to acquire weapons, and thus enables the deepening of its global influence.

The IRA is not the only terrorist organization that the Hezbollah is cooperating with. There is also the Spanish ETA and other terrorist organizations of the world.
