OPSI, the licensed franchisee of the global UPS company in Israel, which provides shipping solutions along the entire supply chain, has completed a large-scale project to implement Nutanix’s HyperConverged solution. Nutanix’s technology is now used as the infrastructure for the operational applications on the company’s production site, including the digital channels and BI system, the DMZ (secure and isolated network) site, the company’s switchboard and the development and testing environment. The scope of the project is estimated at NIS 1 million.

Nutanix’s HyperConverged environment currently runs over 500 virtual servers using the Nutanix Acropolis virtualization infrastructure. In addition, Notnix’s VDI environments were activated to support work from home by about 600 of the company’s employees, who were forced to move to remote work following the Corona crisis.

“UPS in Israel is a service-providing body for business and private customers, each of which expects to receive a complete service experience, with full transparency throughout the process,” says Shai Gutman, VP of Technology and Innovation at UPS. “UPS manages one and a half million service processes every month, when the vast majority is done with automation tools. For each package currently delivered via UPS, between 10-15 digital interactions are performed with the customer, including package tracking options. With work volumes of tens of thousands of packages a day, the company needs significant processing power and storage resources that will ensure the desired speed, stability and customer experience."
