After exposure to a family member who subsequently tested positive for COVID-19, Israel's Alternate Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Benny Gantz has decided, in consultation with medical professionals, to self-quarantine, pending testing and epidemiological tracing.

Gantz is feeling well and will continue to carry out his responsibilities as minister of defense, among other public roles, while quarantined, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The necessary equipment will shortly be installed in the minister's home to enable him to continue work as usual, the ministry added.
