Brazilian cosmetics company Natura &Co said that its subsidiary Avon was the victim of a "cyber incident" which partially halted some of its operations, Reuters reported this week.

The company did not provide details as to the extent of the damage to Avon's operations nor when the problem would be solved.

"Avon is assessing the extent of this incident and working diligently to mitigate its effects, making every effort to normalize its operations," Natura &Co said in a securities filing without elaborating, Reuters reported.

Natura &Co is a Brazilian global multi-brand cosmetics group, which includes Avon, Natura, The Body Shop and Aesop. Earlier this year completed its acquisition of Avon to create the world's fourth largest pure-play beauty company.

This marks the second time this year the company suffered a cyber breach. In April Safety Detectives discovered a breach which affected more than 250,000 customers, making their personal information available to the public without Natura's knowledge.  Additionally, information of some 40,000 customers relating to the payment company Wirecard was also leaked.
