El Al announced on May 5 that it has cancelled all of its scheduled passenger flights to all destinations for the rest of the month.
Reports said the flag carrier struggling to cope with the impact of the coronavirus outbreak was considering the operation of a small number of flights to the US, but eventually decided against it.
El Al is currently only operating a limited number of cargo flights and, in very rare cases, repatriation flights for Israelis stranded overseas when flights were cancelled and borders were closed.
