Reports claimed on April 27 that the Israeli Air Force carried out an airstrike against targets in the Syrian capital, the fourth such attack attributed to Israel this month.

Syria's state-run news agency claimed that Israeli forces carried out the predawn attack from Lebanese airspace, saying some of the missiles were shot down.

Later in the morning, Syrian television reported that three civilians were killed and four others were wounded. However, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the attack targeted an area of southern Damascus where Hizballah and pro-Iranian militia forces are located. The Al-Arabiya TV station reported that several members of a pro-Iranian militia were killed. There was no immediate comment from the IDF.

A late-night attack in Homs Province last week was also attributed to Israel.
